The most beginner friendly classes include Yin and Yin Yang. Speak to your instructor before class. We can look out for you specifically if we know your situation and can offer modifications specific to your injury. As always, listen to your options and follow what feels best for you. Never force!

Each of our instructors have come to where they are through personal practice, continued training, and a min of 750 hr teaching experience, and they teach according to what they know. Our backgrounds include Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha, Kundalini, Dharma, Restorative and Yin Yoga as well as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Vipassana Meditation, Cognitive Therapy and Massage Therapy. We offer led Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga classes. Our far infrared hot classes can best be described as Hatha yoga as interpreted by each instructor. For full instructor bios, head over to Our Team.

Always feel free to speak to your instructors with any concerns you may have. We can look out for you specifically if we know your situation and can offer modifications specific to you. As always, listen to your options and follow what feels best for you. Never force! The most beginner friendly classes are Mysore, where you are taught one on one within the classroom, no experience required. Yin Yoga, where the pace is much slower, with longer holds in poses to get into the connection tissue of the body. This doesn't mean it's easy - just more accessible. Yin Yang Yoga, here the longer more passive holds of yin postures are presented in addition to more flowing or active Yang movements. Please be mindful to do what feels right for you in any class you attend. Instructors always give modifications. You can rest and join in again when you feel comfortable.

I'm sore? You're sore? Who is sore? Mysore! (a little yoga humour)
Q: What IS Mysore?
Mysore is an assisted self practice in which each student is individually taught the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga series, allowing the student to experientially learn the practice of yoga, moving at their own pace and understanding. Mysore is named after the region of India where the Ashtanga practiced originated - Mysuru. An alternative term for the Mysore style Ashtanga practice is Cikitsa, which means Yoga Therapy.
Q: What is the Ashtanga Primary Series?
A series of postures, or Asanas in Sanskrit, designed to bring balance between mind, body and soul.
Q: What can I expect when I come to Mysore?
In contrast to an instructor led yoga session, in Mysore class the instructor moves around the room to teach and offer adjustments on an individual basis. Encouragement and progress are offered according to each person's physical capabilities.
Q: Mysore is a 2 hour class must I attend the whole class?
Mysore class is open for students to arrive and leave at their convenience. You are welcome to practice for as long or as little as you like. Naturally, the more of the sequence you know the longer your practice will be.
Q: Is it okay to attend without any knowledge of the Ashtanga sequence?
Absolutlely! This is all the more reason to attend. Serge will give you individual attention to explain the fundamentals of yoga. Please do not feel intimidated by the idea of practicing without a rigid structure to follow or previous experience. In Mysore, every student has the opportunity to practice at their own pace.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask! Contract us.

While we do not offer specific pre natal classes, some of our classes are appropriate for pregnant women. Speak to your instructor before class to let them know where you're at in your pregnancy. They will offer appropriate modifications and instruction. It is not recommended to practice in the hot room during pregnancy. Please speak with your doctor regarding your options.
